Android vs iOS
Good to see some love for the platform from an iPhone user. As you can see i use the word platform for Android.
People have been comparing the iPhone with the hordes of Android phones, the problem in that comparison is, the "raw" power some Android sets out in the wild has. I mean I am almost enraged by seen that sweet OS butchered by a manufacturer, they put the OS on a phone which can not even boot there in house OS.
When people compare Android and iOS they forget what to take in the factor, what the OS is costing them. In Sweden you can get an Android set for as low as 500 SEK, while iPhone is in range of 7k+. Then you have the in count the cost of the OS itself, Android is an open source OS on top of GPL Linux kernel, while in iOS it is even crime to change the wallpaper. And the fact I can get the latest flagship from Samsung (Galaxy SIII) for about 5.5k SEK, while last gen (iPhone 4S) costs like 7K+.
The iPhone has a inferior hardware, and in my eyes inferior OS. What is the difference of 1.5k I am paying for, I think couple of years back I heard some one referring that as Apple Tax. For that amount I can get a mid class smartphone, which works better then the iPhone. And I do love the freedom of Android.
